Various education and outreach opportunities exist on campus and in our lab. Our group has opened our lab to kindergarteners, girl scouts, high school students, and undergraduate students.

In the past we hosted two groups of students from the Summer Research Experience program targeting economically disadvantaged high school students from Philadelphia and Pittsburg. These students were about the first ones in their family to attend a college. Both groups won prizes (first and third) in their summer research competition.

High school students Miguel Santana and Cintia Vasquez joined our lab for a summer research experience in 2016. Zhang Cai was their graduate student advisor. Our team won the first place in the final research presentation among all SEEMs and SEECos teams. Congratulations to Miguel, Cintia, and Zhang!
